
Since the age of 5, Paul has always drawn the birds and wildlife he seen around him. A self taught artist, his attention to color, contrast and detail have allowed him to gain both regional and national recognition for his artwork. In 1994 he placed Third in the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Design contest, representing his home state of Maryland. In 1998, at the age of 21, he became the youngest artist to win the Maryland Migratory Waterfowl
Stamp contest. He won again in 2006, 2013 and became a four time winner of the competition in 2017. He has also won the Oklahoma duck stamp contest in 2000
and the Iowa duck stamp contest in 2017.
As well as numerous top 5 place finishes in contests nationwide. He has had his artwork displayed
at such venues as the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art and the Easton Waterfowl Festival.
When not painting, he can be found hunting, fishing or getting first hand reference for his paintings.
He has been very active with local and national conservation organizations such as Ducks Unlimited,
donating time and artwork to these great conservation groups. He makes his home in Pocomoke, Md
with his wife Jamie and three daughters, Anna, Lily and Helena.
